APEAMCET Witnesses Decrease in Number of Aspirants; Exam Starts April 22

A significant reduction in the total number of students appearing in the Andhra Pradesh Engineering, Agriculture & Medical Common Entrance Test (AP EAMCET) 2018 entrance examination is expected as compared to that of 2017. Till the evening of April 02, 2018, only 2,71,305 applicants registered for AP EAMCET 2018.

In 2017, total 2,79,016 applicants registered for AP EAMCET 2017 entrance examination for engineering, medical and agriculture courses. The last date by which students could have submitted their application form in online mode for AP EAMCET 2018 without late fee was March 29, 2018.

However, candidates who could not fill their registration form by the due date would be given four more chances for the same with differentiated penalties. They can register online for the entrance by April 6, 11, 16, and 21, 2018, by paying a late fee of INR 500, 1000, 5000, and 10000 respectively.

Some experts suggest that since the count of applicants of AP EAMCET is already behind the previous year’s count by around 8000, it would be difficult to surpass the same in around next two weeks. The primary reason being, there would be only little number of students ready to pay a late penalty of INR 500, 1000, 5000, and 10000, apart from the regular AP EAMCET 2018 application fee of INR 500.

The maximum penalty that students wish to pay in case of genuinely missing the registration is INR 500, or at the last INR 1000. Post then, there may be very rare or single digit registrations at every slab.

Most of those students, who are likely to appear in AP EAMCET 2018 seriously must have already applied for the same. The cases of registrations with penalty payment are always very less for any entrance exam in our country.

Declined Numbers in 2018 – A Matter of Concern?

The decline in the number of applicants in a year for any entrance exam when compared with the previous year actually represent the fall in its popularity or even the dissatisfaction of students on the exam organizing committee or over the other transparency parameters. However, the organizer of the AP EAMCET, Mr. Saibabu, stated that the current number of applicants of the AP EAMCET 2018 would cross those of the previous year by the end date of registration with penalty, that is April 21, 2018.

Controversially, some of the principals of private engineering and pharmacy colleges stated that many students of class 12th from the states other than Andhra Pradesh are not willing to apply for the engineering or architecture courses’ entrance from other state. They, however, are showing their more interest in applying for the centralized entrances (such as JEE, NEET, AIIMS and more), and those of their own state.

Same concept is always applicable to everyone and everywhere, but there was hardly seen any decline in the number of applicants in the successive year over at least past one decade.

Mr. Saibabu declared that students whose AP EAMCET 2018 application form would have been approved by the board through all means, will be able to download their AP EAMCET hall ticket or admit card starting from April 18, 2018. However, the students filling the application form with penalty would subsequently be able to download admit cards a few days later than this date.

The AP EAMCET 2018 entrance examination for the engineering courses will be held from April 22 to 25, 2018, for the architecture courses on April 25 and 26, 2018, and that for both of these streams on April 24 and 25, 2018. The exam will be organized by the Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University, Kakinada on the behalf of APSCHE for the candidates seeking admissions in various courses at the agriculture, engineering, and pharmacy colleges in Andhra Pradesh.
