Cafe Story redefines 'food for thought'
Kolkata, Sep 6 (NITN): The country's urban population is getting accustomed to the book-cafe culture eventually.

The idea of sipping a cooler or coffee while reading one's literary choices is not just limited to homes these days. This homely environment is now very much a part of lifestyle stores around the nation.

22 year old resident of Kolkata, Sourav Kumar Mandal says, "These days what you do and where you do it, both the things are equally important."

He added, "People choose a restaurant for both its food and its ambiance. It's the same with book-cafes. I have a good book and somebody brews me a cup of coffee, I'm sorted for hours."

The idea is to give the readers or consumers a relaxed atmosphere, a deviant option from the traditional hustle bustle of a bookstore.

Cafes were already a rage in the country when the bookstores came up with the idea of its inclusion in the stores itself. It is almost like visiting a library that provides you food, both for thoughts and the stomach.

The people who are avid readers know that it just doesn't end with picking up the right book, but picking the right place to read it equally matters.

With a typewriter on a side; old and traditional wooden tables and chairs to sit; and papers available to sketch or draw, 'Cafe Story' is the book-cafe in Story, the talk-of-the-town lifestyle store in Kolkata.

It has its own unique characters that makes it different from other dedicated cafeterias in the city.

A customer at Story, Snighdha Chatterjee said, "I  will like to call this place a relaxing zone. Books, cafe and good environment, we have always wanted to have a destination like this. I love coming here and I feel more such lifestyle stores should open across Kolkata."

The store also offers its customers with branded coffee and tea at variety of prices. The spacious floors of Story contain books and magazines of different genres.

The bookworms can enjoy selecting one, then move to the cafe upstairs and then read the title for hours at end.

Eventually the idea of mixing the cafe culture with a book store prospered throughout the nation and Cafe Story can be called an apt template to measure that.
