Akasa Air has announced the addition of Kozhikode (Calicut) as its 30th destination and 24th domestic stop.
The airline will operate daily direct flights between Mumbai and Kozhikode starting Oct 1, 2025, establishing a new route between India's financial capital and the Malabar coast. This development expands Akasa Air's presence in Kerala, building on its existing services to Kochi, the airline said.
Flights can be booked through the airline's website and mobile app, as well as various online travel agencies.
Commenting on the announcement, Praveen Iyer, Co-Founder and Chief Commercial Officer of Akasa Air, said, “We are delighted to add Kozhikode as the 30th destination on our network, marking a milestone in Akasa Air’s growth story, and expanding our connectivity in Kerala.”
“Our daily Mumbai–Kozhikode service will not only enhance connectivity between India’s commercial capital and the Malabar coast but also act as a catalyst for trade, tourism, and economic opportunities.”
According to the airline, the addition of Kozhikode to its network is expected to meet the growing demand for travel between southern India's coastal regions and major metropolitan centers, potentially boosting tourism and commerce.
Akasa Air, which launched operations in August 2022, currently serves 24 domestic and six international destinations, including key cities like Delhi, Chennai, and Bengaluru.
This latest expansion aligns with the airline's growth strategy, aiming to enhance connectivity and convenience for passengers.
