IndiGo will operate direct daily flights between Mumbai and London Heathrow Airport from Oct 26, 2025. Heathrow is Europe’s largest aviation hub and one of the world’s most connected airports.
The new service marks IndiGo’s entry into London and its second destination in the United Kingdom, following the start of operations between Mumbai and Manchester earlier this year.
The expansion is part of the airline’s broader international growth plan, the airline said.
Flights on the route will be operated daily using Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft taken on wet or damp lease from Norse Atlantic Airways.
Pieter Elbers, Chief Executive Officer, IndiGo, said, “Entering Heathrow, a key global hub known for its scale and connectivity, is both a proud milestone and a strategic step forward in strengthening IndiGo’s global footprint.”
The aircraft will feature a dual-class configuration, including Economy Class and IndiGo’s business product, IndiGoStretch.
According to IndiGo, passengers on the route will receive complimentary hot meals and beverages. Alcoholic drinks will be available for purchase in Economy Class and offered at no additional cost for IndiGoStretch passengers.
Each seat will be equipped with a seatback screen providing around 300 hours of entertainment content.
Connectivity through Heathrow
Heathrow’s central location provides key connectivity for travellers between India, the UK, Europe, and transatlantic routes.
IndiGo’s entry into Heathrow will offer more direct travel options between India and western markets. The service will also connect passengers from the west to over 90 destinations across IndiGo’s domestic and regional network, the carrier mentioned.
Ross Baker, Heathrow’s Chief Customer Officer, said: “We are pleased to welcome IndiGo’s new daily service between Mumbai and Heathrow. As the UK’s international gateway, this new route will further strengthen the vital ties between the UK and India.”
The new non-stop route between Mumbai and London is expected to support business and trade links between the two financial centres, IndiGo said.
IndiGoStretch
IndiGoStretch passengers will have extra legroom, reclinable seating, priority check-in, and amenities designed for long-haul travel.
The service includes hot meals, alcoholic beverages from Indian brands, and sustainable amenity kits with additional comfort items.
