AirAsia India gets ready to fly from Delhi
New Delhi, May 20 (NITN): AirAsia India on Wednesday organized a special patch flight for prominent personalities in Delhi, to give them a special AirAsia India on board flight experience.

The special flight was on the aircraft VT – JRT named “The Pioneer”; the aircraft dons a special livery dedicated to  JRD Tata, celebrating JRD Tata’s contribution to the Indian aviation industry.
 
The special flight for distinguished guests was organized a day prior to the launch of commercial operations to give the special guests a preview of AirAsia India on board experience. AirAsia India is set to operate its first commercial flight from Delhi on  May 21
 
The aircraft ‘The Pioneer - A Tribute to JRD Tata’ was graced with the presence of eminent personalities like Non-Executive Chairman, AirAsia India Ramadorai, AirAsia India Board Member  Arun Bhatia , AirAsia India CEO, Mittu Chandilya. 
 
Speaking on this occasion, Mittu Chandilya, CEO, AirAsia India said, “We are very excited to step into Delhi. The celebration today is the result of constant hard work, meticulous planning and undying dedicated spirit of our team.  I would like to thank everyone associated with AirAsia India for the support. We hope to enable more people to experience air travel in India."
 
IPrabhakara Rao, CEO, Delhi International Airport (P) Limited said, “We are happy to welcome AirAsia India to IGI Airport. It is only fitting that a top rated carrier like AirAsia has chosen Delhi Airport as a hub for its operations. AirAsia India currently has Bengaluru , Chennai , Kochi , Goa , Chandigarh, Jaipur, Pune , Delhi , Guwahati in its destination network.
