Kolkata, Mar 23 (NITN): Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro City organized Swayam Siddha 13 at the Rotary Sadan in Kolkata on Mar 13.
The University Women’s Association of Calcutta partnered the Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro City along with Orange Corp and Eastern Chamber of Commerce.
Rotary International is the largest service organization in the world and is spread over 200 countries and geographical areas of the world with a global membership of 1.2 million.
Rotary Club of Calcutta Metro City is a part of Rotary District 3291 (District 3291 is spread over 12 revenue Districts of West Bengal and Andaman & Nicobar Islands).
Dr Basabi Paul (French Linguist and recipient of Chevalier Dans l’ordre des Palmes académiques frpm the Repulic of France), Sujata Chatterjee (Entrepreneur, Founder of www.twirl.store up cycling or reusing fabrics), Manjula Jain (Social Activist ) , Indrani Banerjee ( Chief Public Relations Officer Kolkata Metro Railway for Public Relations), Sudipta Chakraborty ( Actor).
Usha Uthup was presented with Living Legend Swayam Siddha Award by Debasish Dutta, CEO, Orange Corp.
The program was also attended by past Swayam Siddha recipients as Rita Bhimani, Nandita Palchoudhury, Anindita Sarbadickary, Jolly Chhanda.
Aaratrika a recitation and dance program was presented by Chandrima Roy & Guru Anuradha Roy

The program was envisioned by our immediate past district Governor Shyamashree Sen and her fellow club members in 2004 to commemorate the International Women’s Day.
