Kolkata hits the road for underprivileged cancer patients of North East
Kolkata, Jan 11 (NITN) In a bid to create cancer awareness among underprivileged cancer patients, citizens of Kolkata took to the road on Sunday morning, covering a base of four kilometers in an hour's walk from Park Street to its surrounding area.

The walk, organised by North East Officers and Professionals Welfare Association ( NEOPWA), started at 9:30 a.m.from Territorial Army Institute Ground witnessed students, young professionals and citizens of Kolkata, taking part in it. 
                 
Former captain of Indian Football Team Bhaichung Bhutia, who was present at the occasion, said,  "It feels great to be a part of this association."

Amitabha.G.Chouwdhury, Secretary, NEOPWA, said "The plan and the cause is unique because the citizens of North East India is deprived of medical facilities which we get. Thus, the main aim of the programme is to bring relief to North East India's underprivileged cancer patients." 

Chowdhury said they will donate  Rs 10 lakhs, from the funds to Tata Medicals,
