New York/ Bengaluru: As the global healthcare industry navigates through the Covid-19 pandemic the New York-Bengaluru co-headquartered Vee Technologies has garnered a spot among the top healthcare employers in 2020.
The IT services firm that is focused on the healthcare and insurance sector, has been featured in the Prestigious Modern Healthcare’s “Best places to work in healthcare in 2020 among the tip 150 companies.
Modern Healthcare’s recognition programme honours companies in the healthcare industry that empower employees so they can provide patients and customers with the best possible care, products and services.
The companies have been selected on multiple factors, including how they navigated the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. All companies were also scored on more traditional measures such as benefit design, transparent communication from leadership, and others.
Vee Technologies’ team work in tandem with hospitals and insurance companies in the US with the new-age medicare plan that incentivises people to stay healthy. Insurers make money if they don’t have to go to hospitals. The company is the only one in the list with development centres in India at Bengaluru, Salem and Chennai.
Vee Technologies works with over 150 US hospitals, including six of the top 20, helping them handle clinical coding and revenue cycle management services. The company also has e-learning and e-governance solutions, says Chocko Valliappa, CEO and MD of Vee Technologies.
Healthcare remains the firm’s biggest offering – with 3,000 of its 5,000 employees engaged in healthcare analytics.
Vee Technologies is the leader in the hospital revenue cycle, HIM And population health space. The hospitals have been facing major challenges with their reimbursement rate going down year after year and increased documentation.
Vee Technologies works on innovative employee engagement programs to keep its young workforce engaged. The staff in its development centres has been divided into micro companies that compete for prizes running into tens of thousands of dollars set aside for winning team.
The team that comes up with the best ideas to improve productivity and quality standards at Vee Technologies walks away with the money. “We have divided our India operations into over 150 micro companies of 15 members each. The challenge before them is to look at the way work is done in each department — HR, Marcomm, Quality, Admin and Learning and Development — and come up with ways to improve processes,” explains Valliappa.
