Salem: The Sona Institutions marked yet another significant milestone with the groundbreaking ceremony of the Sona Valliappa College of Nursing on the outskirts of Salem at Gajjalnaickenpatty village on Salem–Madurai National Highway 44.
The proposed Sona Valliappa College of Nursing will offer a three-year B.Sc. Nursing programme under the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University after necessary approvals. It is expected that the College will initially accept 60 students.
The groundbreaking ceremony was led by C. Valliappa, Chairman of century-old The Sona Group along with his wife, Seetha Valliappa.
The event was attended by eminent Salem citizens, heads of Sona Institutions Dr Karthikeyan Veerasamy, Dr Senthilkumar SRR, Dr GM Khadar Nawaz, Kavitha E J, Dr. Kanakaraj A and faculty members Dr Renuga M, Dr Akilandeswari Jeyapal Dr Sathiyabhama Balasubramaniam and Dr VP Rameshkumar, among others.
The sprawling campus is being designed by IMK Architects led by Rahul Kadri.
