Artists, craftspersons to participate in Lokshilpa O Karukriti Mela at the Jorasanko Thakurbari

Kolkata, May 3 (NITN) The West Bengal State Akademi Of Dance Drama Music And Visual Arts, Rabindra Bharati University will hold the Lokshilpa O Karukriti Mela at the Jorasanko Thakurbari from May 6 to 8, between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. daily.
Sixty artists, craftspersons and weavers from 15 districts of West Bengal, will be participating and showcasing their handicrafts at the mela (fair).
These will include patachitras, mats, and decorative items made with coarse grass and buffalo horns from Paschim Midnapur district; traditional puppets from Dakshin 24-Parganas district; batik products from Howrah district; kantha-stitch items and wood carvings from Burdwan district; dokra jewellery, shola crafts and batik products from Birbhum district; traditional clay dolls from Nadia district; Baluchari sarees, dokra crafts and terracotta items from Bankura district.
Visitors will also get an opportunity to see Chhau dance masks from Purulia district; bamboo crafts from Malda district; jute crafts from Murshidabad district; wooden masks, bamboo crafts and dhokra items from Dakshin Dinajpur district; Polia clay models from Uttar Dinajpur district; wooden handicrafts and Tamang handicrafts from Alipurduar district; shitalpatis from Cooch Behar district; and wood carvings from Darjeeling district.
