Rotary International District 3291 hosts Anandamela 2017 in Kolkata
New Delhi, Oct 30 (NITN): Rotary International District 3291, in association with Helpage India, presented Anandamela 2017 in Kolkata recently.

The event witnessed residents from Old Age homes as Shanti Nivash, Tollygunge Home, Nabaneer, Kalyan Ashram and members of Baristha Nagorik Samaj were entertained by over 70 students of 10 different schools as Aditya Academy, Lakshmipat Singhania, Asian School and others. Past District governor Shyamashree Sen and Helpage India's Anuradha Sen were present along with other Rotary members.

The schools presented tribal dance, bharatnatyam, violin and songs for the entertainment of the seniors. The seniors who otherwise lead a lonely life with occasional days of joy and happiness like the 25th October.


 

They were presented with a fascinating cultural morning with eclectic mix of tradition, tribal, folk and modern songs, dances and instrumentals 


The senior citizens and the students were then treated to lunch after the program


The program was held to celebrate International Day of Older Persons which was on 1st October. Every year Rotary District 3291 supports Helpage India to organize the program.
