Book Review: 'Chimera' by Baani Pasrija

Supernatural occurrences and psychological visions have been inspiring literature since a very long time. Have you seen something that wasn't really there? Heard someone call your name in an empty house? Sensed something that is following you and turned around to find nothing?

These texts establish the fact that hallucinations don't belong wholly to the insane. Sometimes in life when you are too lonely, deprived or intoxicated, ill or injured, unexplained visions happen.

With the International Kolkata Book Fair round the corner, Power Publishers comes up with a new release which is a young-adult fiction packed with deep intensity and emotions, promising to be a refreshingly new take on teen psychology.

In 'Chimera', Baani Pasrija weaves together a story of a teenage boy whose life looks perfect from outside, but is not quite the same in reality.

Zachary's life was normal like any other boy of his age until one unforgettable incident shook his life to its roots.

The story is about a schizophrenic young adult who struggles to live his life and finds it hard to cope up with all kinds of incidents happening in his life.

The book is well written and easy to follow.

Priced affordably at Rs 160, the book will be shortly available at flipkart, amazon and power-publishers.com.
