Kuwait City/UNI/Xinhua: Kuwait will soon impose new restrictions to contain the spread of covid19, Kuwait's Centre for Government Communication said Monday.
The west Asian country will suspend all social events in closed areas from Jan. 9 to Feb. 28, said the centre citing a Government decision.
The decision will be re-examined in light of the epidemiological situation, it added.
Meanwhile, from Jan. 4 all incoming travellers are required to provide a negative Polymerase Chain Reaction (PCR) certificate taken at a maximum of 72 hours before a passenger's flight departure time.
Kuwait reported 982 new covid19 cases in the last 24 hours, raising its tally of infections to 4,19,314.
The death toll from the virus remained at 2,468, while the tally of recoveries rose by 171 to 4,12,073.
