Goa Tourism bags 'Best Decorated Stall' Award at TTF Chennai
Panjim, Jan 24 (NITN): Goa Tourism has recently won a prestigious tourism award at India's biggest travel show-Travel & Tourism Fair (TTF) in Chennai, for the 'Best Decorated Stall.'

The Travel & Tourism Fair was held at the Chennai Trade Centre from January 9-11, 2015.The Goa Tourism stall was represented at the fair by  Subhash Kavlekar (Assistant Planning Officer), Prasad Kavlekar (Assistant Marketing Manager), Nilesh Desai and Kapil Nadkarni.
 
The  award was received  by the  Goa  delegation  at the hands  of  Shoaib Samad, Regional  Director, India  Tourism (South),  Rajiv Agarwal – Joint  Managing Director, Fairfest Media  Ltd.
 
Goa Tourism put up a spectacular show at the  TTF show network at the Chennai Trade Centre, Nandambakkam, bagging the   award amidst stiff competition from strong domestic and global participants. 
 
The three-day annual trade fair brought together more than 160 participants from all over India and abroad, including representations from 17 Indian states and 9 countries.
 
Indian states like Odisha, Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh, Kerala, Karnataka, Jammu & Kashmir Andaman & Nicobar, Chandigarh, Delhi, Haryana, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra, Puducherry, Rajasthan West Bengal participated in the fair along with the host state of Tamil Nadu which also had a strong presence at TTF Chennai.
 
In spite of the devastating floods a sizeable contingent from Jammu and Kashmir Tourism, including 10 private operators, was also present at the TTF Chennai.
 
The international participation at TTF Chennai was led by Nepal, the Partner country,  New Zealand  and  China.
 
 The TTF Chennai also had private representations from Cambodia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Turkey and Vietnam.
 
Goa had a strong contingent of more than 13 tour operators, hotel representatives, and the contingent reported an excellent response from the people of Chennai.
 
The Goa stall, that was done up in classic Goan style, with extensive 3D detailing, and customized lighting, was a massive draw for the visitors on all the 3 days, marking an excellent response from both the trade and general visitors.
 
The entire contingent has reported sizable bulk bookings apart from on the spot bookings for various GTDC and private properties.
 
A Goa evening was also organized at a prominent city hotel, for select local travel operators and media representatives. The evening was attended by over a 100 invitees, comprising key officials of the TAAI South Zone, and members of the Chinese delegation attending the TTF.
 
The evening consisted of a presentation on Goa, followed by the screening of a film on Goa, and authentic local Goan folk dance and music performances, offering Chennai a true flavor of Goa.
