Goa Tourism interacts with travel and tour operators from Doha-Qatar

Panjim, June 3 (NITN): Travel and Tour operators from the Middle East were on Tuesday given a rich experience of Goa Tourism during an hour long interaction with Tourism officials at the Paryatan Bhavan in Panjim.
A 12-member delegation from the Middle East are presently on a four day visit to Goa as part of the India Tourism Dubai, Oman Air and Magic Tours Doha FAM tour to Goa.
The delegation arrived in the State on May 31 and have been touring and experiencing various tourism facets of Goa.
On Tuesday, the delegation met Goa’s Tourism Director Ameya Abhyankar and Goa Tourism Development Corporation’s Managing Director Nikhil Desai. Addressing the delegation, Abhyankar unveiled various features of Goa tourism namely monsoon tourism, eco-tourism, wellness tourism, adventure tourism and culinary tourism.
The Tourism Director said, “Goa is a 365 day tourism destination, popular for its sacred mangroves, rich bio-diversity, leisure, adventure, cuisine, yoga and ayurveda. Monsoon tourism is the best option for tourists from the Middle East to experience the richness of Goa and its beauty in full glory.”
The delegation was also introduced to Goa Tourism’s all new unique ventures such the hot air balloon, amphibious vessel, seaplanes launched recently.
It was informed that the operations of the unique ventures would begin in September and visitors from the Middle East could immerse themselves in these new adventure activities during the tourism season.
A documentary film on Goa Tourism was shown to the delegation which also highlighted Goa’s success in Wedding tourism, Pilgrimage tourism, Hinterland tourism and more.
Mazin Al-Busaidi, Country Manager – Qatar for Oman Air said, “We see great potential of increasing footfalls to Goa with good air connectivity. We want to take this further and have a co-branding with Oman Air and Goa Tourism.”
Aji Kuriakose, General Manager of Magic Tours – Qatar said, “ Goa is a popular holiday destination and we want to promote its hotels and beaches.”
He also said that monsoon tourism is of great interest and will attract its foreign nationals to Goa.
The Manager Marketing Yogesh Naik, GTDC PRO Deepak Narvekar, Manager Marketing Pravin Faldessai were also present.
