Passengers will be able to book tickets for their bus travel across Indian cities at Busindia.com which bring together bus transport operators of the country under a single window.
The online ticketing service for the first time provides the advantage of trip and hotel booking for the passengers providing a full itinerary experience.
First phase of the integration process is completed, bringing together 16 transport corporations from Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Odisha, Meghalaya and Gujarat.
Second phase will get the bus operators from the states of Rajasthan, Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa and other parts of the country along with state owned transport corporations under the umbrella of Busindia.
Busindia.com is developed by Radiant Info Systems Limited in association with Central Institute of Road Transport (CIRT).
Expressing his happiness at the launch of Busindia, the minister said, “This is an important milestone in transportation services in our country and I am proud we have been able to achieve this.”
He also commended the hard work put in by Radiant Info Systems over several years to integrate the bus operators nationwide.
Commenting on the launch of Busindia.com, Venu Myneni, Co-founder, Chairman and CEO of Radiant Info said, “It has been our dream project since the launch of the first online bus ticketing system we did in 2006.”
“With bus services in India connecting to remote locations within the country, this service will now be useful to anyone in India and abroad to easily plan their travel within the country,” said Myneni.
Talking about the newly launched solution, Ananda Rao, Director, CIRT said, “This is truly a first-of-its-kind gateway for bus booking and makes it the largest portal in the world in its category.”
" Connecting this with the IRCTC portal and taxi booking will certainly create an integrated travel experience in India,” he added.
All the vehicles and services on BusIndia.com are operated as per pre-defined schedule route and timings with definite trips, which allow better planning and management of the journey.
