Delhi tops list for international travellers
New Delhi, Nov 26 (NITN) According to the latest Hotel Price Index (HPI) report by Hotels.com, Indian metros dominated the list of top 5 Indian destinations for international travellers in the first half of 2013.

The capital city of Delhi was at the number 1 position followed by Mumbai, the city of dreams at number 2. Bengaluru and Chennai enjoyed the 4th and 5th spots respectively.

Overall, the top 10 destinations list for international tourists was a good mix of the major cities and top tourist hotspots. Goa, the popular beach and party destination ranked number 3 whereas Jaipur occupied the 7th spot. 
 
South Indian destinations of Hyderabad, Cochin and Thiruvananthapuram also featured in the top 10 at the 6th, 8th and 10th positions respectively. Agra, the land of Taj Mahal occupied the 9th spot.

Further, the Hotel Price Index report revealed the favorite international spots for Indian travellers.
 
 In the first half of 2013, the chart of most popular overseas destinations was an eclectic mix of short and long haul favorites. South East Asian destinations dominated the top 10 list with as many as 6 destinations on the chart.

Bangkok and Singapore stood 1st and 2nd respectively followed by Dubai on the 3rd spot. Destinations from Thailand – Pattaya and Phuket stood 7th and 8th respectively.
 
 Hong Kong enjoyed the 6th spot while the Malaysian capital of Kuala Lumpur came in at number 10.

London at number 4 was the only European destination on the list. 
 
On the other hand, 2 American destinations were in the top 10 with New York at number 5 and Las Vegas at number 9.
