Take a flight of fancy with the Rice Paper butterflies at this tropical conservatory of Ontario until Jan 29, 2017.

'Tis the season at the Cambridge Butterfly Conservatory. As you enter this tropical butterfly conservatory, you will find thousands of Rice Paper butterflies fluttering everywhere. With a wingspan of up to 14cm, the Rice Paper Butterfly, a large white relative of the Monarch, is impossible to miss as it floats through the air moving gently from flower to flower. 
 
"The Rice Paper butterfly is a favourite for our guests because they land on visitors the most" says Adrienne Brewster, executive director and curator at the Conservatory. "As visitors stroll through the exhibit they will encounter fascinating information about the Rice Paper's behaviour and biology. This exhibit is a relaxing escape from the hustle and bustle of holiday activities".
 
 
Until January 29, 2017, the Conservatory is hosting a special event called The Flight of White where lush white white poinsettia flowers and sparking white lights complement the Rice Papers. Strains of classical music playing in the background is sure heighten the unique experience.
 
Tickets: General Admission Day Pass (age 13-64): $13.25; Senior Day Pass (age 65+): $11.25; Child Day Pass (age 3-12): $7. Tickets can be bought online: https://www.cambridgebutterfly.com.  
 
Important: The Conservatory temperature ranges from 24°C (75°F) to 28 ºC (82°F) with high humidity. Flash photography is permitted in the Conservatory and Galleries but tripods are not. The facility and front gardens are entirely wheelchair accessible.
 
Visitor hours: Open Tuesday to Sunday from 10:00 am - 5:00 pm; last admittance at 4pm. Closed New Year's Day, 2017.
