India offers visa-on-arrival for 180 nations
New Delhi, Feb 6 (NITN) India has liberalized its visa regime by announcing that visitors from 180 nations will be granted visa on arrival, said Planning Minister Rajiv Shukla.

The countries which are outside the purview of such facility are Pakistan, Iran, Sri Lanka and China.

"We have decided to extend visa-on-arrival to tourists from 180 nations. It will take 5-6 months to put the infrastructure in place. We hope to implement this from the next tourist session beginning October," planning minister Rajiv Shukla said.

"The facility will provide a major boost to the country's tourism sector," said Shukla calling the move as historic.

A separate website would facilitate the process and an electronic visa will be available within three days.

Shukla said visa-on-arrival can be availed in all 26 major domestic airports from where international flights operate
