Fergana, Uzbekistan, Mar 8: The Fergana region of Uzbekistan is slowly growing into a global tourist attraction owing to its historical monuments, places of worship, modern buildings, and nature.
Many travellers visit the regional center, the cities of Kokand and Margilan, in Rishtan district, for convenience.
The most amazing natural places of the region fall on this route.
In the future, new complexes will be built along the reservoir Karkidon and Shakhimardan village, as part of tourist-friendly infrastructure.
Large-scale activities are being carried out in Uchkuprik district for creating a free tourism zone in Sarikurgon.
This year it is planned to increase the number of tourists visiting the region to 1 million people.
It is planned to implement 58 projects with private investments, bank loans and foreign investments in order to further develop the tourism potential and infrastructure.
This year many international events will be held in Fergana region.
In particular, an international artisan festival will be held in Kokand, crafts festivals will be held in Margilan, an eco-festival, maqom and askiya evenings will take place in Rishtan district.
Taking into account a significant increase in tourist flow this year, 22 investment projects worth 26.2 million USD have been planned, of which work has already begun on 10 projects.
