Goa Tourism to host 'Green Hotel Conference'

Panjim, May 28 (NITN): The Goa Tourism has tied up with Hospitality Biz, a global company providing consulting services to the hospitality industry, to present the 'Green Hotel Conference' in here and to organize the first ever 'Goa Food & Hospitality Awards' 2014.
The events has been conceptualized and produced by Media Promotions.
Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu India Private Limited, a leading global audit and consultancy firm, are the research partners for the event.
Goa Marriott, which is the hospitality partner to the two events will host the events on May 30, 2014.
The event is supported among others by the Travel & Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG); Goa Chamber of Commerce & Industry and Viva Goa – Goa’s first & only lifestyle magazine.
The 'Green Hotel Conference', which is also being supported by theEnvironment Ministry of Goa, will be held during the day and is aimed at bringing together experts in the fields of green building concepts, hoteliers and other decision makers active in the field of environment initiatives, under one roof to discuss challenges faced by the hospitality industry and arrive at solutions which will make the eco practices being followed in the hospitality segment beneficial for the environment and the property.
The 'Green Hotel Conference', which is also being supported by theEnvironment Ministry of Goa, will be held during the day and is aimed at bringing together experts in the fields of green building concepts, hoteliers and other decision makers active in the field of environment initiatives, under one roof to discuss challenges faced by the hospitality industry and arrive at solutions which will make the eco practices being followed in the hospitality segment beneficial for the environment and the property.
Some of the topics of discussion will include – Social Impact of Green Initiatives; Energy Efficiency & Green Hotel Building; Are Hotels Really a Part of the Green Initiative; besides having presentations from the Goa Tourism Department representatives amongst others.
The day long event will be followed in the evening by the first ever Goa Food & Hospitality Awards 2014.
The Goa Food & Hospitality Awards 2014 seeks to honour the best in the state.
Large number of hotels from across various categories have participated in the awards and have been nominated under the categories like Best Hotel – Upscale, Mid-segment, Heritage, Time Share; Best Local Independent Hotel (Upscale and Mid-segment); Best General Manager; Best Executive Chef; Best CSR Initiative; Most Innovative Eco-initiative; Best Spa; Best Restaurant and others.
