Mumbai, Jun 15 (NITN): Club Med, the leader in premium all-inclusive holidays, has announced the evolution of their Asia Pacific (APAC) organisation into two specialised Business Units, APAC Markets and APAC Resorts.
As of Jul 1, the new APAC Regional Organisation includes Greater China, Japan, Korea, India, South East Asia and the Pacific. This reorganization allows Club Med to put the best teams closer to the guests and deliver better customer experience.
“Club Med is in a growth acceleration phase with the openings of three to five resorts per year,” said Henri Giscard d’Estaing, President of Club Med. “This significant moment in our development requires us to focus on our growth drivers – sales and marketing to drive brand preference amongst consumers, and to accelerate the opening of new resorts and strengthen the in-resort guest experience across APAC. With this new strategy, we are pleased to share our new roles for our Comité de Direction Générale (CDG)”
Based in Shanghai, Xavier Desaulles, CEO of APAC Markets business unit will lead the commercial teams across Greater China, Japan, Korea, South East Asia and Pacific markets. Having been CEO of the East and South Asia Pacific (ESAP) markets since 2016, Xavier has taken Club Med in ESAP to the next level, boosting the Brand’s growth and making Club Med a preferred hospitality vacation brand of choice among millennial families and active couples.
Boasting an in-depth understanding of Asia emerging markets, Xavier was the Regional Managing Director for Southeast Asia, India and the Middle-East at the Rémy Cointreau Group prior to his position at Club Med.

We have been pioneers in hospitality and in the current consolidation environment of the industry, we remain the preferred niche player, a trend setter and the undisputed leader when it comes to cornering the family and mountain vacation markets. This reorganisation will take us further and I am proud to be a part of this milestone.” said Xavier Desaulles.
Leading the Operations and Development of the resorts across APAC and also based in Shanghai, is Jean-Charles Fortoul, CEO of APAC Resorts. With over 18 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Jean-Charles has held senior leadership positions at Club Med since 2002, managing various markets across Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia. Previously he was the VP of Operations for East and South Asia & Pacific, & VP of Sales Emerging Countries of South East Asia managing nine holiday resorts and six Commercial Countries across Thailand, Indonesia, Philippines, Vietnam & Myanmar.
“It is an exciting time for Club Med with the aggressive expansion growth of our resorts across the world,” said Jean-Charles Fortoul. “In the months to come, we aim to develop strong product offerings by developing the right capacity across APAC destinations, by delivering the best in-resort experience throughout our resort portfolio.” Club Med’s resort portfolio includes Club Med Premium All-Inclusive, Club Med Joyview and Club Med Exclusive Collection resorts.
Gino Andreetta, who is currently the CEO of Greater China will move to Lyon, France as of Sept 2019 to lead the Europe, Africa and France (EAF) Resorts as CEO. Since 2015, Gino has successfully developed Club Med’s sales and operations in the region, including opening four new resorts in Greater China.
