The participants deliberated on the theme Transformational role of Young Managers in a new-age economy: Towards building Sustainable Organisation.
The Eastern Regional Round saw over 57 participants from 19 corporate houses, including Indian Oil, Hindalco, Bosch Ltd, Tata Power Corporation, Tinplate Company, Danfoss Industries, Mahle Filter Systems India Ltd., Rourkela Steel Plant and Gabriel India Ltd. among others.
Every year, since 1974, AIMA has been organising the National Competition for Young Managers with the aim of fostering creative excellence in management talent in the country, and to recognise young managers for their problem solving, team working and leadership skills. The Competition involves a business plan created by teams of mid-level managers representing leading corporate houses from across India.
The team from Bosch Ltd, represented by Sandeep Rao, Khusboo Singhania and Abhinay K. won the Competition and the team from Rourkela Steel Plant, comprising Lopamudra Mishra, Sudarshan Pathi and Jyotirmay Jena were declared runners-up. The two teams would now represent the Eastern Region at the Competition nationally onAugust 8, 2015.

It has attracted more than 150+ teams from across the country every year and has given seen some exceptional talent and thoughts pertaining to live and contemporary issues. The participants at the NCYM-East deliberated on the theme “Transformational role of Young Managers in a new-age economy: Towards building Sustainable Organisation”, and were judged on the basis of their leadership skills, knowledge, experience, professional prowess and creativity. Qualities which would help them in preparing to become “Leaders of Tomorrow”.
Subir Sen, Dean, Globsyn Business School said, "The AIMA-NCYM event hosted by GBS provided young budding managers to hone their analytical skills, creative thinking, problem solving, team working and leadership skills in a competitive setting. This is in line with GBS philosophy of life-long learning envisioning through research, technology and innovation. Our students had the benefit of attending presentations made by the competing teams. It was a great learning experience for them to watch the problem-solving process develop in action in a live setting, and the diversity of thinking that produces business results."

Malaysia Airlines will expand its South India network by adding more flights on the Kuala Lumpur–Trivandrum route to meet rising demand, the airline said. From September 12, the carrier will operate five weekly services, with daily flights to start from December 1.
