The Summer Fest opened up for kids on 9th May and will continue till the 14th of June.
The fest is directed towards children, within 2 yrs – 15 yrs of age. Story aims to gift a fun-filled and interactive summer to the kids. They can make the most out of summer breaks by getting involved in various activities and workshops organized by Story.
Story celebrates the Summer Fest every year. The fest will be conducted over three segments with events appropriately designed for different age-groups.
In the first segment, i.e, 9th May to 13th May, the kids will be participating in events like phonics workshop, Ideate Playlabs story telling session, colouring competition, drawing competition, robotics and puppet show.
Earlier in April, Story had successfully hosted its first pop-up workshop for kids in association with Ideate Playlabs. It aims to empower the children to be a self-directed and lifelong learner.
From 28th May to 1st June, the fest will include workshops on personality development and team building; Pottery; Origami; creative writing; social ethics, values and body language; and story telling for kids.
While in the last segment of the fest, i.e, from 8th June and 9th June, the kids will take part in interactive sessions on recitation and expression with voice modulation; wealth from waste; good touch and bad touch; and story telling.
This year the fest will not only focus on the reading habits, cognition and instillation of creativity in kids, but also, on their role in the society and their overall personality development.
The walls of Story have been adorned with literary pieces specially picked out for children of various age groups. Every Sunday, Story organizes the ‘Story-teller’s’ club meet, where various activities are planned for the kids to have fun while they learn, at its flagship store at Elgin road.
There are a total of four Story outlets in West Bengal. They are in Elgin Road; Diamond Plaza Mall, Nager Bazar; Avani River Side Mall, Howrah and Junction Mall, Durgapur.
The flagship bookstore of Story, was launched on 15th April, 2014 in Kolkata. It claims to be eastern India’s largest standalone bookstore covering an area of 15000 sq feet.
Story also helps students of Future Hope, an NGO in Kolkata that provides home and school for street children, by training them at various stores during summer internships. It also raises funds and donates books, gifts and toys to various charity organisations.
‘Share a Story’ initiative collected 10,000 books and handed it over to Future Hope and Mukti Rehabilitation Centre. Story contributes books for the annual Carnival and Jumble Sale at IICP (the Indian Institute of Cerebral Palsy).
Eventually a pilgrimage for all book-lovers Story has a massive collection of books of all genres and a dedicated floor for children.

The art street section offers art material and accessories, gift it! section has bountiful of special gift items, greetings section boasts of a wide range of all reasons greeting cards whereas the paper shop and stationery section has a comprehensive range of house paper and stationery materials of different kinds.
