American Airlines
American Airlines is set to make winter warmer at Miami International Airport (MIA) with the announcement of seven new routes and a brand-new international destination.
As the largest airline at MIA, American continues to solidify its position with over 380 peak-day flights this winter, serving a total of 150 destinations.
Juan Carlos Liscano, American's Vice President of MIA Hub Operations, expressed pride in the airline's longstanding presence at Miami International Airport, stating, "With a history of over 30 years at MIA, American is proud to serve as the hometown airline, offering our customers an unparalleled network that includes unique destinations like Governor’s Harbour, Bahamas; Anguilla; and Sacramento, California."
"Next winter, we are pleased to further invest in the undisputed gateway to Latin America and the Caribbean, a true point of pride for our more than 14,000 locally-based team members."
American Airlines currently operates flights from MIA to more than 85 unique destinations, including over 45 in Latin America and the Caribbean.
With service to more than 70 destinations across the United States, American is committed to providing the most convenient travel options for customers to explore Miami or seamlessly connect to the largest network of destinations across Latin America and the Caribbean among all U.S. airlines.
As of February 3, American will become the exclusive U.S. carrier offering nonstop flights from MIA to Governor's Harbour, Bahamas (GHB). The service will be available twice weekly on Embraer E175 aircraft, expanding the airline's winter schedule for the Bahamas, which will encompass up to 14 daily departures to six destinations.
Furthermore, American Airlines plans to enhance its winter schedule from MIA to Latin America and the Caribbean, offering over 140 peak-day departures to more than 70 destinations.
Travelers can now enjoy increased accessibility to locations such as Liberia, Costa Rica (LIR); Cartagena, Colombia (CTG); and Tortola, British Virgin Islands (EIS).
With the introduction of these new routes, American Airlines will provide the most convenient nonstop access to MIA this winter. The airline will offer service from seven new domestic destinations, including year-round daily flights to Portland, Oregon (PDX) and Sacramento, California (SMF), as well as seasonal weekly service to Buffalo, New York (BUF), Cedar Rapids, Iowa (CID), Lexington, Kentucky (LEX), Wichita, Kansas (ICT), and Wilmington, North Carolina (ILM).
American Airlines' expansion at Miami International Airport is a testament to its commitment to meeting the diverse travel needs of customers, strengthening its network, and providing exceptional service to the growing number of travelers to and from Miami.
