Jet airways to provide fares, flight status via Twitter

Mumbai, Mar 3 (JEN): International airline Jet Airways on Tuesday unveiled #JetInstant, an online feature that enables guests to access information on fares and flight status in real-time through Twitter.
The customer-centric initiative is part of Jet Airways’ strategy to simplify the travel experience and engage with guests on a real-time basis, an official statement said.
The initiative, developed in collaboration with Twitter and technology partner, TravelSpends, will see Jet Airways set a new industry benchmark in customer service.
Cramer Ball, Chief Executive Officer, Jet Airways said: “Innovation has always been a key feature in Jet Airways' operating philosophy and #JetInstant is another pioneering customer driven initiative.”
“By using digital and social media platforms, we will empower our guests with information that can help them plan their travel more efficiently and enhance their overall experience with Jet Airways,” Ball said.
Arvinder Gujral, Director, Business Development, Twitter India and SE Asia, said: “Twitter always has and will continue to encourage innovation on our platform. This is a first for us in the field of aviation in India and we congratulate Jet Airways for their creative use of Twitter.”
“As an organisation that prides itself on guest service, #JetInstant will allow Jet Airways to offer services with a personal touch and greater convenience," said Gujral.
To take advantage of #JetInstant, guests will first need to follow the official Jet Airways Twitter account @jetairways.
To get the flight status, guests can Tweet “@jetairways fltstatus <Flight No> <Departure Date in DDMM format>”. Within seconds, the update will be sent as a Direct Message (DM) to their Twitter account.
For LoFares details, guests need to Tweet “@jetairways lofares <Origin> <Destination> <Departure Date in DDMM format> <Return Date in DDMM format>.
The #JetInstant service sends the lowest fare available as a DM with a direct link to complete the booking process seamlessly onjetairways.com.
Twitter users can Tweet @jetairways #JetInstant for any assistance with regards to the service.
