Malaysia Airlines will expand its South India network by adding more flights on the Kuala Lumpur–Trivandrum route to meet rising demand, the airline said. From September 12, the carrier will operate five weekly services, with daily flights to start from December 1.
Tickets for the new frequencies are now available for booking through all Malaysia Airlines’ official channels and appointed travel partners.
According to the airline, the added flights show Malaysia Airlines’ commitment to the Indian market, giving travellers more flexibility and convenience, while improving connectivity between India and Malaysia.
This reflects the route’s growth since its launch in November 2023, which began with twice-weekly flights before increasing to four times weekly in April 2024.
Dersenish Aresandiran, Chief Commercial Officer of Airlines from Malaysia Aviation Group said, “India remains a key focus market for Malaysia Airlines, and this frequency increase reaffirms our dedication to meeting the growing demand for air travel from South India.”
“With the introduction of daily flights to Trivandrum from December, we are well-positioned to provide both leisure and business travellers with greater flexibility and convenience, while supporting trade and tourism flows between our two countries.”
Malaysia Airlines currently operates 77 weekly flights across ten major cities in India including Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Amritsar, and Trivandrum. With the new additions, this number will increase to 80 weekly flights by December 2025.
International travellers flying through Malaysia can also take advantage of Malaysia Airlines’ Bonus Side Trip (BST) programme, which offers a domestic flight to one of seven domestic destinations within Malaysia with zero base fare. This allows international travellers to explore more of Malaysia’s unique culture, nature, and heritage—all within a single itinerary, the airline said.
