Travellers flying through Miami International Airport during one of the country’s biggest tennis tournaments can expect enhanced lounge services, as American Airlines rolls out a series of event-week upgrades.
The airline has introduced special amenities and themed offerings across its Flagship and Admirals Club lounges, aimed at passengers heading to or returning from the tournament.
Upgraded lounge experience during event week
All of American Airlines’ premium lounges at the airport are located in Concourse D, offering travellers a quieter and more comfortable space away from the busy terminals.
The airline operates more than 400 peak-day arrivals in Miami, one of its key international gateways, particularly for routes connecting Latin America and the Caribbean. The increased footfall during the tournament week is expected to bring in travellers from across its global network.
Passengers visiting the lounges during the event period will have access to tennis-themed food and beverage options, along with live broadcasts of matches.

Facilities designed for comfort and productivity
The lounges are divided into multiple zones catering to different needs. Seating areas allow passengers to relax before flights, while dedicated dining and bar sections offer meals and drinks, including à la carte options in select areas.
Workspaces equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi and charging points are available for those needing to stay connected, while wellness amenities such as shower suites provide added convenience for long-haul travellers.
Expansion plans in the pipeline
American Airlines is also working on expanding its lounge footprint at the airport. A new Flagship lounge and an enlarged Admirals Club space are in development and are expected to nearly double the current lounge capacity.

In collaboration with local authorities, the airline has also announced plans to redevelop Concourse D, with a focus on improving operations and streamlining the international travel experience.
Who can access the lounges
Access to the Admirals Club lounges is available to members, eligible frequent flyers, and select credit card holders. One-day passes can also be purchased.
Entry to the more exclusive Flagship lounge is reserved for qualifying international passengers, including premium cabin travellers and those with higher-tier loyalty status. Single-visit passes are also offered at a higher fee.
