Kolkata: The 25th annual concert of Mentaid was held at Madhusudan Mancha in the city last week.
Actor and social worker Nigel Akkara was the chief guest at the concert.
70 intellectually disabled kids danced to the music of Vande Mataram while also presenting a musical soiree, and recitation at the annual concert.
Mentaid is working for the betterment of the intellectually disabled.
Nigel Akkara, actor and owner of Kolkata Facilities Management working for rehabilitation of prisoners, said, "The real chief guests of the event are the parents and guardians present here."
Several songs and Bengali poems were recited showing the hard work tof he children.
Chairperson of Mentaid, Iona Louise Kundu, mentioned, “We use music, dance and sports among others to work in all directions including social awareness.”
