Dr Kiriti Sengupta, a dental surgeon by profession, is the author of the best-selling trilogy–My Glass of Wine, The Reverse Tree, and Healing Waters Floating Lamps.
A bilingual (Bengali and English) poet and translator, his poems have been widely anthologized -- in Kritya, Taj Mahal Review, Labyrinth, Grey Sparrow Journal, Dukool, Wilderness House Literary Review, among others.
The Earthen Flute, his 15th literary work, has been critically acclaimed by noted authors and poets.
Lorna Dee Cervantes, award-winning poet and activist of American origin, has said that the Earthen Flute is an assortment of poems dwelling with various layers of life and the worldly dwelling in a language beyond many borders of languages.
Jonathan Moody, author of Olympic Butter Gold, has said, “Few poets can harness emotion with spirituality and offer crucial insight; after reading Let the Flowers Bloom, you’ll agree that Sengupta is one of them,”
K Satchidanandan, the globally acclaimed poet from India, has said, "“Sengupta has an uncanny way of mixing memory and myth. The earthly and the ethereal coalesce in these meditative poems to create a rare poetic experience.”
Sengupta’s The Earthen Flute has been highly appreciated by The Lake journal (U.K.).
Sanjukta Dasgupta, professor and former Head, Dept of English and former Dean, Faculty of Arts, Calcutta University and noted poet and professor, Sharmila Ray. will be the chief guests on Feb 21.
Noted journalist and poet, Saheli Mitra shall moderate the proceedings.
