India Humanity Foundation (IHF) has officially launched its flagship literacy campaign, Padho Bharat 2025, with an ambitious and heart-warming goal: to inspire every Indian to donate books, building thousands of libraries across underserved communities by the end of 2025.

This nationwide movement aims to ignite a culture of reading and education by mobilizing citizens, schools, corporate, and celebrities to contribute to the cause.

Through book donations, the campaign will directly benefit schools, orphanages, rural learning centres, and grassroots institutions that lack access to basic reading resources.

“A single book can open up a world of opportunities. With Padho Bharat 2025, we are not just giving books — we’re giving children a chance to dream, learn, and lead,” said Mr Shekhar Mehta, Chairman, India Humanity Foundation.

Since its inception, Padho Bharat has already made a significant impact, having:
• Established over 5,000 libraries in rural and marginalized communities

• Distributed more than 5,00,000 books across India

• Partnered with over 300 institutions and schools to support reading initiatives
The 2025 campaign marks a major expansion of this impact, aiming to double those numbers through mass citizen participation, collaborating with volunteer organsiations and corporate social responsibility (CSR) partnerships.
