Astitva: First “Gold Rated” Green Building in Kolkata
India Blooms News Service 24 Sep 2016, 11:36 am
Kolkata, Sep 24 (NITN): A discerning home-buyer? Looking for an environment-friendly home? Then Primarc-MCK’s high-end 'green building' residential project ‘Astitva’ in Kolkata may be the answer you are looking for.
This is the first time that the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) has awarded the IGBC Green Homes Gold certification to a Kolkata-based project, which indicates that Astitva has fulfilled the definitive standards for energy efficient buildings with reduced electrical energy demand.
Siddharth Pansari, Managing Director, Primarc Projects said, “Astitva will set a new benchmark by introducing responsible luxury living.”
He firmly believes that by maintaining high energy and water efficiency standards, homeowners can be encouraged to be more eco-conscious as well.
Our home – our best refuge – not only protects us from the vagaries of nature but also plays an important part in regulating our health and well-being. On the other hand, it is also our duty to engage in activities that is not detrimental to the overall environment.
Keeping these two key aspects in mind, the Primarc Group, along with its partner MCK, has developed Astitva where ‘green’ norms have been followed to conserve and preserve the standard healthy level of environment.
The certification proved that the project met the regulator IGBC’s stringent requirements across key criteria such as planning, water and energy efficiency, indoor environmental quality, and innovation and development.
Astitva, located in Kankurgachi, a premier neighborhood in eastern Kolkata, covers an area of 147 cottah, including an open space of 80 per cent and a natural water body. The project has already started its handover process from July 2016
.
Some of the key ‘green’ aspects of project Astitva includes reduction in water and energy consumption, enhanced air quality, conservation of scarce national resources, dual fired eco-friendly DG set, on-site rain water harvesting system and on-site solar panels for renewable energy generation.
It must be noted that to fulfil the ‘green’ norms, Astitva has not cut corners in the well-being of the residents.
To help residents save on their electricity bills, Astitva has adopted measures to optimize daylight use and introduced high COP VRVs for air conditioning. It has also made provision for the use of electric vehicles in the complex and has a well-designed central landscaped garden.
Primarc Projects’ idea of introducing environment-friendly apartments in Kolkata will act as a boost to every home buyer.
Henceforth, Primarc will focus on maximizing the use of green features across all future projects, the company said.
