The Teacher Training workshop will be conducted in 8 centres across India. Faculty members from more than 50 colleges from West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand & Assam are participating in the workshop.
Partha Chatterjee, Minister of Education, West Bengal, said, “The E-learning that comes under the SWAYAM project is a wonderful initiative to bridge the digital divide. Everybody has the right to education and when various educational revolutions are taking place, then the teachers, rather the mentors, should know how e-learning should be used as a daily tool."

All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) has helped JIS Group to design its curriculum for online access. SWAYAM, the interactive online open learning platform, is indigenously developed by Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD) and AICTE for helping students with higher studies.
Anil Sahasrabudhe, Hon'ble Chairman, AICTE, said, “Throughout India the employability in students has gone up from 25% to 40% in the few recent years, as well as the quality of education. Recently, the Smart India Hackathon 2017 was also conducted in JIS University that has created a huge impact over India. It is thanks to all our efforts that we could involve the students and we will try our best to develop various ways of pedagogy to enhance their technical skills and make them industry-ready.”
Taranjit Singh, Managing Director, JIS Group and Chancellor, JIS University said, “JIS has always tried to give the best education to the students. This is a prestigious event for us that we could develop the online curriculum, best fitted for a student, studying online.”
The E-QUAL project is an innovative approach to enhance the quality, access and governance of undergraduate education in India through the joint decision and production of Open Educational Resources (OER), supported by European Commission (EU) and implemented by the British Council.

The project activities are being implemented in four key disciplines – Critical Thinking, Cultural Studies, Human Ecology, Natural Resource Management and Sustainable Development.

Etihad Airways is set to introduce direct flights to Luxembourg, becoming the first airline from the Middle East to operate services to the country. Launching on Oct 29 2026, the new route will also be the only nonstop connection between Luxembourg and Abu Dhabi, linking two key centres in Europe and the Middle East, the airline said.
Lufthansa will mark its 100th anniversary in 2026, commemorating a century since the founding of the original “Luft Hansa” on January 6, 1926.
