"According to credible estimates, there will be a shortfall of skilled manpower to the tune of around 400 million by 2020. This presents an opportunity for India to not just fill the gap domestically, but internationally too. Skills training, however, ranges from intensive residential programmes, which are suited for the banking, financial, insurance and retail sectors, to short term online or blended certification programmes for employees and managers who want to upgrade their skills," Ramabhadran AP,Senior Vice-President, Education Services, Manipal Global Education Services, said.
Appreciating the Centre's Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana initiative, he said: "The Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana (PMKVY) launched recently with an outlay of Rs.1500 crore is a step in the right direction. However, strong public-private participation, reliable skilling centers, stringent monitoring, and impartial accreditation agencies are imperative for it to succeed."
Manipal Global Education Services offers certification programmes in IT/ ITES, Finance and Accounting, Management and Digital Marketing.
These programmes are designed by Manipal Global and taught by industry veterans using EduNxt, our award winning online academic platform.
For intensive skilling, we offer long and short term residential programmes for BFSI, IT and retail, and have successfully trained over 20,000 professionals so far.
"Manipal Global commends the initiative taken up by the United Nations. This day creates awareness about the need for skill development and acts as a platform to highlight the efforts made by nations and private entities to bridge this gap," Ramabhadran said.
