The presentation was made by the Kolkata-based Mohul Abrittir Band which, under the leadership of Shaoli Majumdar, has completed ten years of its operations.
It was appreciated by an audience which included, among others, Alokananda Ray, Pandit Tarun Bhattacharya, Sanchita Bhattacharya, Sujoy Prosad Chatterjee, and Debashis Mukhopadhyay, the well-known researcher on Sukumar Ray and his family.
All of them spoke on this occasion.
Equally important, the presentation reflected the greatness of Sukumar Ray as a humorous poet, storywriter and playwright, with the nonsense verses of Aabol Taabol perhaps contributing the most to his distinctiveness.
On this occasion, the Child In Need Institute (CINI) presented the recitation of selected poems from Aabol Taabol by a group of underprivileged children whom it had identified and trained.
