Kolkata, Mar 10 (NITN): Twin books, ‘Kalo Chakti, Sada Kolom’, and ‘Atashkaanch’, by author and musician Subrata Bhattacharya, published by Power Publishers, were released, in the presence of a large number of celebrities, such as filmmakers Gautam Ghosh, Kaushik Ganguli, Nandita Roy, Nitish Roy, actor Deboshree Roy, and singers Nachiketa, Swapan Basu and Antara Chowdhury.
‘Kalo Chakti, Sada Kolom’ (Black Disk, White Pen) is an interview-based biography of veteran musician and composer Subrata Bhattacharya, and ‘Atashkaanch’ a collection of 15 short stories by the same author.
The two large, illustrated and hardbound books come in a colourful paper bag.
The guest speakers, who are all personally known to the author and worked with him, described their working experience with the author.
The author, who has worked with legendary musician and singer, Salil Choudhury, Lata Mangeshkar, Asha Bhosle, Laxmikant Pyarelal, Mrinal Sen, Aparna Sen, Anjan Dutta and many others, spoke about some of his experiences too.
The books have been edited by Anupriya Dutta, General Manager of Power Publishers, who was also present in during the event held at the Kolkata Press Club.
The books are now available through Power Publishers, Flipkart, Amazon as well as leading bookstores.
