Kerala Agriculture University(KAU) has started taking applications for admission to the MBA Agribusiness program, offered in the College of Cooperation, Banking and Management Vellanikkara for the academic year 2018-19 through any of the three channels, namely KMAT, CMAT and CAT.

Eligibility:
To be eligible to appear for the program, the student must be a professional graduate from a state or deemed university under ICAR systemwith a minimum OGPA of 7.0/10.0 (6.5 for SC/ST candidates).Graduates, including professional graduates from Indian/Foreign Universities recognized by AICTE/UGC with minimum 60% marks from SSLC onwards under traditional system (5% relaxation to SC/ST candidates).
Also, candidates who have appeared for the final year examination in college are also eligible to apply for the course. They will be allowed provisional admission and will be required to submit the certificates and details before the completion of the first semester. If any candidate fails to deposit the essential certificates then he/she will be removed from the university and the admission will be canceled.
It is mandatory for the candidates to qualify in any one of the following exams conducted during the month of November 2017 onwards to February 2018.
• KMAT
• CMAT
• CAT
Number of Seats Available:
There is a total of 40 seats available for the course out of which 5 seats are reserved for the students selected through ICAR examination,i.e. All India Competitive Examination conducted by the government of India. Further, 5 seats are reserved for the international candidates nominated by the Government of India. Maximum of 5 seats are for the candidates who will be sponsored by the Agribusiness Organizations or Government departments, agencies and Institutions.
Rest of the vacant seats will be open for all the deserving candidates who will make it to the top of the merit list.
Application:
Interested candidates can register themselves for the program at www.admissions.kau.in and submit the online form latest by 24 March 2018. No application forms will be considered by the university after the issued date. The official prospectus for further reference has also been made available at the official website.
The application fee for the form for General Candidates is INR 750 andINR 375 for SC/ST candidates of Kerala.
The application fee can easily be remitted through the system generated pay in slip. It can be done at any branch of State Bank of India to the Savings Bank Account No. 57006546701 of the Comptroller, Kerala Agriculture University maintained at State Bank of India, KAU Campus Branch, Vellanikkara.
One hard copy of the counterfoil must be attached to the hard copy of the online application form filled at the time of registration. Candidates from outside Kerala may also remit their fee by the means of a Demand Draft in favor of Comptroller, Kerala Agricultural University which is payable at State Bank of India, KAU Campus Branch, Vellanikkara.
In the online application, there is a specific column for the fee paid where all the necessary details must be filled by the candidate.
Documents Required
Along with the hard copy of the online application form, the candidates must forward the copies of the list of documents mentioned in the prospectus. The original counterfoils of the fee have to be remitted, to the Registrar, Kerala Agricultural University, Main Campus, KAU P.O, Vellanikkara, Thrissur-680656 to reach latest by 5 April 2018.
The admission into the course will be determined by the score based on the KMAT, CMAT or CAT exam. After qualifying the exam the selected candidates will have to go through a round of Group Discussion and Personal Interview which will be conducted by the University.
The departmental/sponsored candidates are also eligible to apply for the University program. The criteria and selection process will be same for them. However, they must have at least three years’ experience.
Process for Admission
For shortlisting the final group of candidates, 80% marks will be considered from the score of written test (KMAT, CMAT, CAT) while the weight age given to Group Discussion and interview will be 10% each Candidates will only be selected for GD and PI on the basis of marks they have secured in KMAT/CMAT/CAT.
NOTE: This criterion is not for the ICAR students, they are eligible as per the ICAR rules.
The list of all the selected candidates will be uploaded on the University Website. All the further communication will be done through SMS or Email.
