Manipal received the ‘University of the year’ award for demonstrating overall excellence and significant contribution in past academic year for faculty employed, student training, research studies, improved technology for education delivery, employability, governance and infrastructure.
The university was also honoured with the ‘Excellence in Employability’ acclamation for working towards ensuring a highly employable talent pool by working closely with industry.
FICCI Higher Education Excellence Awards were instituted in the year 2014 to recognize and felicitate the achievements and excellent work done by institutions and individuals in improving the quality of Higher Education in India, and driving themselves and the sector towards continuously increasing levels of excellence.
Manipal University is the highest ranked comprehensive private deemed University in the QS BRICS and QS Asia rankings. On receiving this high esteemed honour from FICCI, Dr. Vinod Bhatt, the Vice Chancellor of Manipal University said, “With over 700 Universities in the country, the FICCI awards is a testimony to the quality of education and research in Manipal University. This will encourage us to work even harder to be among the top 200 Universities of the World.”
Manipal University is synonymous with excellence in higher education. Over 28,000 students from 57 different nations live, learn and play in the sprawling University town, nestled on a plateau in Karnataka’s Udupi district. It also has nearly 2500 faculty and almost 10000 other support and service staff, who cater to the various professional institutions in health sciences, engineering, management, communication and humanities which dot the Wi-Fi-enabled campus.
