Eiffel Tower evacuated after bomb alert

Paris, Aug 9 (IBNS): After being completely evacuated for hours on Friday afternoon following a bomb alert, the iconic Eiffel Tower in Paris has re-opened for tourists, reports said.

 According to reports, hundreds of tourists were evacuated from the tower around 2 pm (12:30 GMT).

The famous landmark was reportedly closed for approximately two hours.

Built in 1889, the 1,062-foot iron tower is one of the most recognisable structures in the world and attracts millions of visitors every year.
