The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) will showcase the country's wellness offerings as Phuket hosts the Global Wellness Summit (GWS) 2026 from November 10 to 13.
The summit is being organised by the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine (DTAM), with TAT, the Thailand Convention and Exhibition Bureau (TCEB) and Phuket Province as co-hosts. It will give TAT an international platform to present Thailand's traditional healing practices and wellness-related travel experiences, as the country works towards becoming a “Global Health & Healing Destination.”
Held at Angsana Laguna Phuket under the theme “The Science, Art & Soul of Wellness”, the four-day summit is expected to bring together around 600 Thai and international delegates. They will include wellness industry leaders, investors, entrepreneurs, academics and medical experts.
As the host destination, Phuket has wellness services, natural attractions and Thai hospitality, while also providing access to wellness and travel experiences in other parts of the country.
Four-Day Global Wellness Summit Programme
Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana is scheduled to preside over the official opening ceremony on November 11 and deliver the opening address.
The summit will include international industry discussions, innovation showcases, networking sessions and an exhibition featuring wellness products, services and tourism experiences.
The programme will include:
November 10: Delegate welcome activities and evening receptions.
November 11: The official opening led by Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana, followed by keynote presentations, plenary sessions, panel discussions and roundtables on global wellness developments, along with networking opportunities.
November 12: A student-focused “Shark Tank of Wellness” competition, an Innovation Lab and the Gala Evening.
November 13: Further industry discussions and innovation showcases, followed by the announcement of the destination that will host the Global Wellness Summit 2027.

Thailand to Highlight Five Regional Wellness Routes
TAT's participation is part of its promotion of Thailand's health and wellness tourism under the theme “Healing is the New Luxury.” The approach reflects growing demand for travel focused on restoration and meaningful experiences.
It is also linked to TAT's Value over Volume direction, which focuses on quality experiences, international service standards and economic benefits for local communities.
At the summit, TAT will present “Thailand Wellness Journey: The Ultimate Healing Sanctuary” through a dedicated exhibition booth featuring wellness routes across Thailand's five regions.
The exhibition will bring together traditional medicine, Thai massage, cuisine, cultural heritage and natural resources to highlight the country's offerings for physical and mental wellbeing.
Thai Wellness and Tourism Organisations to take part
DTAM will showcase regional Thai massage traditions, herbal products and food-based wellness, while TCEB will present Thailand's capabilities for hosting international meetings and events.
The Sustainable Tourism Development Foundation will highlight Phuket's local crafts and cultural heritage.
Other exhibitors will include:
Amathopia: Food innovation.
Laguna: Spa experiences.
BDMS Wellness Clinic and Chiva-Som: Wellness service innovations.
Government Pharmaceutical Organization and research and life-sciences agencies: Healthcare products and related technologies.
Together, the exhibitors will represent different parts of Thailand's wellness sector, including healthcare, traditional practices, food, hospitality, research and tourism.

TAT to Develop International Wellness Partnerships
Beyond the summit, TAT plans to connect Thai wellness businesses with overseas partners and develop travel experiences combining health and healing with gastronomy, culture and community life.
The approach is part of TAT's “Transform Together” strategy under Thailand's 2027 tourism direction. It focuses on collaboration between the public and private sectors, increasing economic value for local communities and supporting Thailand's ambition to become “Asia's No.1 High-Value & Meaningful Destination.”
