Russia strikes off India from safe travel destinations list
29 Nov 2015, 04:05 pm
New Delhi, Nov 29 (NITN): In a major blow to the tourism sector in India, Russia has struck off the country's name from the list of safe travel destinations.
Following this decision by Russia, Goa will be the most affected destination since most of its foreign tourists comprise of Russians.
This is seen as a huge blow to Goa, which is already witnessing a reduction in the arrival of Russian tourists.
The Russian information centre in Goa on Saturday released a statement saying that a revised travel advisory has been formulated after the blacklisting of Turkey and Egypt.
The decision to struck off India from it's recommended travel list of safe destination by the Russian government comes after the devaluation of rouble.
