Mumbai, June 18 (IBNS) Goa Tourism was recently honoured with the ‘Best value destination’ award by The Lonely Planet Magazine India Travel Awards during a glittering award ceremony held in Mumbai.

 Commenting on the award, Dilip Parulekar, Tourism Minister of Goa said, “We are absolutely delighted to receive the ‘Best Value Destination’ award by Lonely Planet magazine. It holds special significance since it has been voted by readers of Lonely Planet who are in themselves mature, world travelers. 

"Goa has much to offer – from culture, to heritage, local cuisine and adventure – and this award re-affirms our determination to provide our visitors with the best value proposition without compromising on quality. Goa Tourism will continue to exceed all expectations and win many more awards in future.”

The Lonely Planet Magazine India Travel Awards celebrates the best travel experiences available to Indians, creating an exclusive club of travel facilitators and destinations that Indians love and will return to. 

An expert panel, comprising of travel experts and professionals, shortlisted candidates in 42 categories, following which, readers of Lonely Planet Magazine were invited to vote both online and through the magazine. 

Lonely Planet is one of the world’s leading travel magazines that launched its Indian edition in 2010 and has gained a large reader base ever since.
