Mumbai, Oct 30 (IBNS): Jet Airways, India’s premier, full-service international airline, on Tuesday said it will introduce two new international routes this winter, adding to its already extensive global network, besides reinforcing two existing routes with additional frequencies to meet growing travel demand.
Jet Airways will be the first Indian carrier to operate a non-stop service between Mumbai and Manchester - the third largest city in the UK. The airline will also be the first to connect Pune directly with Singapore thereby catering to leisure and corporate travel. The airline will also deploy additional frequencies on the Delhi - Singapore, and Delhi - Dubai sectors, as it deepens presence and connectivity between key cities in Southeast Asia and the Gulf.
On the domestic network, effective 28th October, 2018 Jet Airways has enhanced connectivity from Vadodara, introducing its daily direct, non-stop flight between Vadodara and Delhi along with a new service between Vadodara and Bengaluru. Simultaneously, the airline has also launched a new direct daily flight between Delhi and Coimbatore, expanding North-South connectivity.
The airline’s new services to / from Vadodara will promote travel and stimulate business and economic activity in the third largest city in Gujarat, especially for the Small and Medium Enterprises located in and around the city. Vadodara is also home to various large scale industries catering to oil and gas, power and chemicals. Guests from Vadodara will also be able to use the additional connectivity options available from domestic hubs of Delhi and Bengaluru to travel onward for business matters, leisure travel or to visit friends and relatives.
On the same day, Jet Airways has also commenced its new, daily non-stop flight between Delhi and Coimbatore. A major hub for manufacturing, education and healthcare in Tamil Nadu, Coimbatore is among the fastest growing emerging cities in India, housing over 25,000 small, medium and large industries majorly catering to engineering and textiles. The airline’s new daily service will promote travel and stimulate business and economic activity in the region, while connecting the manufacturing hub of Tamil Nadu to the capital of India. Similarly, this flight will connect the travellers to popular destinations like Ootacamund (Ooty) and Pollachi.
Likewise, effective Oct 28, the airline has commenced its 3rd daily service between the IT hubs, Pune and Bengaluru. Additionally, Jet Airways has also introduced its 2nd daily, non-stop service between the national capital, Delhi and Bagdogra, while the current bi-weekly service between Mumbai and Patna been increased to a daily frequency.
Effective Sunday, Oct 28, on the international network, Jet Airways has strengthened its connectivity to Dubai, via its 4th daily frequency between Delhi and Dubai. Dubai is among the airline’s most popular destinations for business and leisure travellers and it was only fitting to increase capacity to this key market.
Effective Nov 5, the airline will introduce the country’s first non-stop service between Mumbai and Manchester. Manchester will become the 21st international addition to the Jet Airways network and with the introduction of this new flight - the carrier’s 5th non-stop service to/from the United Kingdom - Jet Airways will also become the largest carrier between Mumbai and the United Kingdom. Guests can avail of additional connectivity choices from Manchester, and connect onwards to North America and Europe or even within the United Kingdom, via flights with Jet Airways’ partner carriers including Virgin Atlantic, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Air France and other interline partners. Manchester – the fastest growing UK city outside of London is also Europe's second largest digital hub, a hotbed of arts and culture, and home to world-class universities and research centres.
Starting Dec 1, Jet Airways will also become India’s first airline to connect Pune directly with Singapore in response to growing demand from both leisure and Corporate travellers. Pune has recorded the highest number of arrivals into Singapore from a non-linked Indian city and this new service will tap into this demand. Guests from Pune travelling to destinations across the Far East, Asia-Pacific region and Australia can also seamlessly connect to those cities using flights of codeshare and interline partners. The new flight and the connectivity options will give a boost to tourism and economic activities across the region.
Additionally, in view of the overwhelming response to its existing services, the airline will also commence its 3rd daily frequency on the Delhi – Singapore sector. This third service complements the airline’s existing services on this route. Jet Airways has seen an increase in air traffic between India and the ASEAN region. Industry air passenger traffic between Singapore - India has increased by 17% through 2017. Singapore is the 8th largest source of investment in India and the largest amongst ASEAN member nations.
Raj Sivakumar, Senior Vice-President – Worldwide Sales & Distribution, Jet Airways, said, “With the introduction of the new services and frequencies to destinations in the United Kingdom, Southeast Asia and Gulf, Jet Airways will provide guests with wider choice, convenience and connectivity.
