Tel Aviv is a diverse city with multicultural influences and open-minded locals. Every June, in honor of Pride month, people of all genders, religion and color flood the streets of Tel Aviv in support of love, diversity and freedom to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community.
With a series of events across the city, Pride is that time of the year when the city takes on a new life with vibrant colors and an intoxicating atmosphere that cannot be ignored. With parties, lectures and art exhibitions, Tel Aviv Pride Week presents an effervescent celebration in a creative and energy-packed environment. The festivities attract hundreds of thousands of participants from both Israel and abroad, with the most-attended and anticipated event being the Tel Aviv Pride Parade on June 14.
This year, the festivities for the Pride Parade will kick off at 10AM at the corner of Melchett and Ben Tsiyon Boulevard for the 21st time.
The celebrations include concerts, colorful floats and drag shows. Local LGBTQ+ businesses will set up booths and there will be uplifting speeches by members and friends of the fraternity. At 12PM, the Parade with specially designed floats, marching groups, elevating music and countless participants and spectators will depart from the boulevard to continue along the beautiful streets of Tel Aviv touring throughout the city.
The parade’s last stop will be at Charles Clore Park, where the famous sunset beach party will begin at 2PM gathering thousands of people for live shows and a spectacular view of Tel Aviv's Mediterranean beaches. From noon till the evening on Friday June 14, one can expect a display of creativity from artists alongside various food stands and pride merchandise while listening and grooving to the sound of some of Israel’s most famous DJs.
This year, the Israel Ministry of Tourism will be hosting world renowned television and stage actor Neil Patrick Harris (Barney Stinson from How I Met Your Mother) along with his husband, chef and actor David Burtka, for the Tel Aviv Pride Parade celebrations.
“Tel Aviv Pride has become an important symbol of LGBTQ visibility and acceptance on the world stage,” said Neil Patrick Harris. “We are excited to visit Israel for the first time and honored to be a part of this beautiful celebration to stand with the LGBTQ community both in Israel and across the globe, especially as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Stonewall.” While in Israel, Harris and husband Burkta will meet with various members of the LGBTQ community as well as visit tourist sites in Tel Aviv, Jerusalem and the Dead Sea.
In past years the Israel Ministry of Tourism has hosted celebrities like Andy Cohen (American television and radio presenter), Perez Hilton (American fashion and lifestyle blogger and influencer), Alan Cumming(actor and comedian) and Lea DeLaria(comedian and actor– Boo from Orange is the New Black)for the Tel Aviv Pride Parade. Last year Tel Aviv had 250,000participants in the parade making it the Gay Capital of the Middle East and one of the biggest pride celebration in continental Asia.
Tel Aviv is famous for its extravagant round-the-clock parties. As one of the hottest gay cities in the world, the city is anticipating close to 300,000 attendees and participants for the Pride Week and Parade celebrations. The TLV19 Pride Pass is a bracelet that allows one to enter some of the biggest and hottest parties of the season.
