Kolkata’s yellow Taxi can be book through Ola app
Kolkata, Aug 28 (NITN): Ola, India’s mobile app for personal transportation, on Friday announced that Kolkata’s yellow taxis can now be booked through their mobile app.

Over 1000 taxis across Kolkata, have already registered themselves on the Ola platform at launch. 

The registered taxi drivers are equipped with a smartphone that helps them accept booking requests and navigate to the customers’ doorstep making the entire process absolutely hassle-free.

With this, the total count of vehicles registered on the Ola app in Kolkatta goes beyond 5000, making it the largest network in the city. 

Nationally, Ola has over 250,000 vehicles on its platform across 100+ cities, making it the largest mobile app for personal transportation.

Ola is launching the Taxi booking feature with over 1,000 taxis registered across Kolkata to begin with. Over the next three months, the company aims to bring over 5,000 Taxis on its platform.

Taxis will be made available to commuters at Government approved metered fares with an additional convenience fee of Rs. 10 levied by Ola, at the end of the ride.

Customers can use the app only as a booking interface and shall settle the fare as usual with the taxi driver or through Ola Money, Ola’s mobile wallet service.
