New Delhi, Apr 17 (IBNS): We all have to deal with summer heat and have hated it most of the time due to skin eruptions, sweat and dehydration, summers are mostly about these problems. However, thanks to Ayurveda that practices the science of natural health and has a lot to offer.
It is important to have more alkaline foods in order to fight the heat in the body.
Eat water-rich foods that will not only re-hydrate your body but also have antioxidants that keep you healthy.
Eat more onions, green vegetables and drink lots of water.
Here are some Ayurvedic tips to keep cool this summer
1. Eat Pitta Pacifying Foods
As per Dr. Durga Arod ( Residential Medical Officer, SPPC) one should ensure eating sustenance’s that cool your body and give you improved irrational Heat. Eat
more water-rich natural food like watermelon, pears, apples, plums, berries and prunes. Pick vegetables like asparagus, broccoli, Brussels sprouts and cucumber.
2. Avoid Foods That Heat You Up
Stay away from nourishments that will create heat in your body and end uprisky. Maintain a strategic distance from acrid natural products, citric products, beetroots and carrots that tend to warm up your body. Limit the intake of garlic, bean stew, tomato, and salted cheddar to abstain from hampering your System. Eat more plates of mixed greens, as they are cooling, particularly when had for lunch. Take a stab at staying away from dull meats as they warm up your body.
3. Eat At the Right Time
Always eat when your stomach related fire is at its most grounded, which is in the middle of lunch (Mid- day). Missing your lunch during summers is equivalent to troubling your pitta dosha that further influences you to feel chafed and irritable.
4. Coconut Oil To Your Rescue
As per Dr. Durga Arod ( Residential Medical Officer, SPPC) , toward the beginning of the day, as a part of your day by day schedule, rub 5-6 ounces of coconut oil on
your body before taking bath. It gives a cooling and relieving impact to the skin. You can also use sunflower oil.
5. Avoid Hot Drinks
Drinking hot beverages will welcome a resentful pitta dosha. This is the reason you should drink beverages at room temperature.
6. Avoid Strenuous Exercise
It is always good to exercise early in the morning as it is the coolest part of the day. Engaging in vigorous exercises during other parts of the day may heat up the body only to cause harm.
7. Make Use of Cooling Oils
Bring sandalwood, jasmine and khus oils to your pocket. They have a relieving fragrance, as well as are known to have cooling properties.
8. Avoid Ice Cold Drinks
Super cold beverages just restrain processing and make toxins, also known as ama in the body. Your stomach related system has a digestive fire that is responsible for converting food into energy. Drinking chilled is almost like putting off the digestive fire causing various health problems.
