Pink Ops: Girl Power
If you feel it has been ages since you have treated your eyes to good art, there is some exciting news. Power Publishers’ attempt at giving graphic novel fans a whiff of contemporary graphic art of international scale and narrative, has been possible with author Jayson O’Neil’s ‘Pink Ops – Part 1’ book hitting the online store,

To begin with, the artwork executed by Ghanshyam Bochgeri is mature and has brought out the ruggedly “cool” atmosphere of the story in the best way possible.

Coming to the story line, if you are a fan of superhero fiction, you are going to cheer ‘atta girl!’ with this one.

A team of bold, young and sassy women kick and punch their way through a bunch of baddies to restore peace and harmony back in small town Kukes, in Albania.

As the government tries to figure out the whereabouts and origin of the terror-raging, gun-trotting pack, Pink Ops, headed by Starlight, the girl gang goes around town saving innocent men, women and children from the clutches of the rogues.

But Starlight and her friends, are not just a bunch of ass-kicking, Spandex-wearing she-heroes.

They have compassion, wit and power of reasoning to outwit the villains and protect the powerless.

Among the rest of the things, what deserves special mention is the smart coloring technique used by Raghavendra Kamath.

Pink hues to support the girl-power theme, is seen throughout all panels without appearing redundant and stressful to the eye.

The smooth blend of the pink-and-grey palette has managed to accentuate the sassy theme.

Priced at Rs. 500, the book can be the ideal gift for your teen or pre-teen this season.

Comic book lovers can grab their copy from power publishers.com, ebay.in, flipkart.com and amazon.com.
