Kolkata, Apr 3 (NITN): Rotary Club of Madhyamgram Metropolitan in association with the American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), USA, has successfully been running a 10 bedded day clinic with all amenities named as 'Rotary Clinic' for treatment & prevention of diseases of women and child and vision care for all at Madhyamgram in collaboration with Rotary Club of Brentwood, USA (Rotary International District 6760) under the aegis of The Rotary Foundation Global Grant.
It was unveiled in December 2017.
There has been significant footfall of patients who are being treated free of cost at the clinic.
The Clinic has been providing the specialised medical support to the underprivileged population which includes Ophthalmology, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Paediatric OPD by team of renowned doctors and 10 bed eye unit with OT and Counselling Area; Free IOL surgeries and free transportation of outskirts & peripheral patients on the day of surgery;Sponsored pediatric cardiac and non-cardiac surgery in other setup with minimal cost to the patients (referral tie-up);Sponsored gynecological and obstetric surgeries in other setup with minimal cost to the patients(referral tie-up);Pathological Tests at subsidized rates from reputed Labs;ECG at minimum charges;Eye check-up and spectacles at minimum cost;Free Vaccination to Children;Free of cost medications;Preventive integrated free health check-up camp, preventive counselling and follow-up;Awareness development seminar and free diagnostic screening;Frequent free health check-up camp with eye, diabetic, hypertensive screening;A dedicated 24 hrs Ambulance service (1 ambulance with 2 drivers) and 1-2 Toto ambulance for outskirts area in near future.
American Association of Physicians of Indian Origin (AAPI), USA, an association of Indian origin physicians practicing / working in USA has come forward to extend their support to make the above Rotary Clinic sustainable and expand further as well as to set off philanthropic activities in their motherland.
Bothhave inked a MOU in this regard last year.
AAPI shall sponsor and provide funds to Rotary Club of Madhyamgram Metropolitan to run Rotary Clinic and extend above services to the community.
The Clinic shall be owned, run and managed by RC Madhyamgram Metropolitan.
To start with, a free mega health check-up camp at Prajapati Bhaban, Basunagar, Madhyamgram with the physicians support from AAPI and Rotary Clinic on financial aid from AAPI.
