Preparing school-going children to start the new school year on a pleasant note is important for parents.
“It is not only about buying them trendy things, from backpacks to pencil boxes to art material. With spiralling cost of living, I always focus on buying products that are hardy and long-lasting and yet do not cost a fortune,” said Moyna Talukdar, a mother of two school-going sons.
Her friend Shruti Bajoria, whose daughter studies in an upscale Kolkata school, said “Children love watching the latest animations on television or online. So anything they possess must have pictures of their favourite cartoon characters.”
The Back-to-School sale at STORY promises to cater to varying needs, said Amit Roy of the Elgin Road outlet.
The store, with its well-spread display section for children, stocks for all ages, from pre-school to senior school students and even college-goers. There are backpacks and bags, lunch boxes, water bottles, pencil boxes and pouches, writing stationery and art material, globes, almost anything that a student will need.

There are also combo products on sale. For example, there are combos consisting of a pencil box, a lunch box, and a water bottle with hand sanitiser.
The staff at STORY are well aware of the latest trends, which cartoon character or which design and colour are doing well, and stock accordingly so that both adult and little buyers can browse and buy what they like.
One of the new products that are sure to attract little artists are the crayons in various shapes, some round, some conical or the ‘twistable’ colour pencils.
The sale, from March 12 to April 3, to be held at all STORY outlets, is offering a 10% discount on Back-to-School products.
Interestingly, STORY is also holding its annual book sale now. So while picking things for your children, may be you can also buy a book or two for yourself and the kids.
STORY at Elgin Road Kolkata is eastern India's largest standalone bookstore and a leisure destination. It covers an area of 15000 sq feet.
